The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has received a reply from FIFA, the world governing body for football, regarding the 'wonder goal' scored by Penang's Mohd Faiz Subri.

The FAM had sent an application to FIFA to include Mohd Faiz's 'wonder goal' in the list of candidates for the FIFA's 2016 Puskas Award.

FAM secretary-general Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin, in a statement today said, the letter signed by Acting FIFA secretary-general Markus Kattner, dated March 14, 2016 and sent from the FIFA Headquarters in Zurich, thanked the FAM for submitting a video clip of the goal for the consideration of FIFA.

"Though FIFA did not give any assurance that the goal will be listed among the 10 shortlisted entries for FIFA's Puskas Award, Kattner had said FIFA would consider Mohd Faiz's goal will be given due consideration, just like all the other entries from all over the world," said Hamidin.

He said FIFA would inform the FAM if Mohd Faiz's goal is shortlisted among the top 10 for the Puskas Award.
