FOOTBALL fans expressed their amazement over a stunning free kick from Penang’s Mohd Faiz Subri during the Super League clash at the Stadium Bandaraya Pulau Pinang on Tuesday night.

The free kick took place during 62nd minute when the ball swerved from left to right before landing inside the goal post.

Social media were abuzz over the free kick, including a tweet from Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.




Netizen Mat Zaim felt proud of the free kick as according to him, only international players would usually do such free kick.





Some are hoping for Faiz to be awarded the Puskas FIFA Award, a recognition for a male or female football player to have scored the year's “most beautiful" goal.



Meanwhile, international media such as Sports Illustrated, The Independent, Sydney Morning Herald, dan Mirror have reported on Faiz’s free kick.

Mirror's headline asked if this free kick should be awarded with the Puskas FIFA Award.
