Former Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan described ex-Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as 'innocent'.

Musa believed Mahathir, who is the nation's Father of Modernisation has committed nothing wrong to be apprehended by the police.

He stressed that Dr Mahathir had only aired his views on multiple national issues and asked the individual involved to provide answers appropriately.

"Dr Mahathir had not committed any wrong doing. What he did was merely asking a question. We hope that the cops would be able to answer all Dr Mahathir’s queries," said Musa in the latest Tweet post.

The tweet was a reaction to the statement made by the Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar who said investigations conducted on the veteran politician does not lead to his arrest.

Wan Junaidi added that investigation procedures will determine whether Dr Mahathir had committed any wrong doing.

Previously, Dr Mahathir had reportedly expressed his intention to aid in the release of convicted murdered and former Special Action Division (UTK) officer, Sirul Azhar Umar who was persecuted in the murder of Mongolian model and translator, Altantuya Shaaribuu in 2006.

Dr Mahathir had stressed that his clear conscience had inevitably led him to query on who ordered Altantuya's assassination.

Right now, Dr Mahathir did not commit any wrongdoing
Dr Mahathir was also quoted saying that it's unfair for Sirul and Azilah Hadri to be given death penalty for they had only followed orders.

Musa further reiterated that no action should be taken on Dr Mahathir under the Sedition Act as demanded by certain quarters.

"Currently, Dr Mahathir has committed no wrongdoing. Why must he be investigated? He only asked who gave the orders. Is that considered as seditious?"

"Dr Mahathir also wanted to know who gave the orders. Therefore, if possible, the investigations should be centered on seeking the answers," said Musa in an interview with news portal, The Malaysian Insider.

On April 8, non-governmental organisation Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia (SAMM) launched a series of police reports on Dr Mahathir for making seditious remarks. SAMM branches nationwide who had lodged respective reports were from Pahang, Selangor and Penang.

However, Gabungan Graduan Melayu Muda (GMMMM) president, Mohd Khairul Azam Abdul Aziz described SAMM as 'instigators' with personal motives and have appeared unsatisfied even if 1,000 police reports were lodged against Dr Mahathir.
