There is no international-level conspiracy against Malaysia, Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak said.

The Communications and Multimedia Minister said the investigation carried out by the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) was based on reports and the laws of that country.

"It is not a conspiracy. They (DOJ) are carrying out their duties based on complaints lodged.

"They are conducting (the investigation) based on what their country's laws require them to do," he said when met after officiating the Pacific Asian Communication Association 2016 conference at Universiti Putra Malaysia today.

The minister explained that there was nothing else related to 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) when everything had been explained in detail through probes conducted by the authorities of Malaysia.

"It is our (Malaysian Government) job to provide explanations and we’ve been handling the 1MDB issue well.

"We allow whoever to give their personal views. Even Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and the Opposition have their own views.

"For me, to be fair, let them (DOJ) carry out their duties according to their laws," he said.

Earlier today, Salleh had stated that 1MDB had been the "subject of unprecedented politically-motivated attack" in a move to "unseat a democratically-elected head of government", following US Attorney-General Loretta Lynch's allegations that the state investment fund had been used as a "private bank account for several corrupted officials".

1MDB had subsequently denied the allegations.

Salleh had said that any claims relating to 1MDB must be treated with caution, follow due legal process and adhere to the principle of innocent until proved guilty.
