Police have recorded a statement from Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz over his remarks which is said to have insulted the monarchy.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said they had recorded statement from the minister last week, following the police reports lodged against him for his comments against Tunku Mahkota of Johor,
Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.

"We will forward the investigation papers to the Attorney-General at any time," he was quoted as saying by Bernama said at a press conference after launching the high-definition digital version of the film "Bukit Kepong".

On June 13, Nazri had earned the ire of TMJ after he advised the royal to stay out of politics following his attack on Najib over the premier's no-show during the #Nothing2Hide "PM's Dialogue With NGOs" forum on the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) earlier this month.

Tunku Ismail had posted on Johor Southern Tigers Facebook page, stating "how can you have a dialogue called Nothing2Hide featuring a person who has everything to hide?

“Obviously he won't show up."

"For those who had been entrusted with the responsibility, do not blame the people for losing confidence and trust in you, but think of why they no longer have the confidence and trust in you," he added.
