Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the government is working to reduce the debts of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

He said despite facing harsh criticisms, Najib is confident that the debts can be reduced with the involvement and cooperation from the Finance Ministry.

“I am confident that with the Finance Ministry, we can ensure that the recovery plan can be achieved despite the criticisms,” Najib said in his speech to Finance Ministry staff at Putrajaya, today.

“Eventually we will be able to prove that the 1MDB recovery plans can achieve its aims,” he added.

Najib also assured that the issue of 1MDB will be answered after the Auditor-General (AG) report is tabled to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) soon.

“I hope all quarters will wait for the report,” he said.
