Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today answered a host of allegations being hurled towards him and his government in a latest posting on his blog, www.najibrazak.com today.

In what seemed to be comprehensive FAQs to set the records straight, Najib listed a slew of allegations that have been national issues among Malaysians in recent months including the debt-stricken 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), the purchase of a private jet, the murder of Mongolian model and translator, Altantuya Shaariibuu.

Najib on one the FA!Q topic titled 'Allegations Against 1MDB said, the preliminary report on the 1MDB issue, which had taken centrestage since the matter surfaced recently, will be released soon.

“We are expecting the release of the preliminary report by the Auditor-General very soon. In the meantime, please do not speculate and form conclusions without the information that will be laid out by the A-G who will provide a detailed report into 1MDB’s finances.

Najib was however adamant in stating that it is unfair for certain politicians to convict the government in the court of public opinion way before the actual facts are laid down by lawful authorities, namely the A-G and the bi-partisan Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

He also stressed that when concerns began to be raised pertaining to 1MDB, he has ordered the A-G and the PAC for a detailed explanation.

“I have ordered the A-G and PAC to investigate 1MDB’s books. Anyone found guilty of embezzlement or misappropriation will be brought to justice.

Najib stressed that the rakyat want detailed answers but it is only proper to let the auditors do their job and clearly inform what the situation really is.

“If we pre-empt it, we would be undermining them, as many others have done. This is not the proper procedure. If we are sincere in finding out the truth behind those allegations, we need to get the information from legitimate sources (like the Auditor General) and not third-party news portals or online blogs that might have hidden agendas,” he added.
