Youth and Sports Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin urged for a stop against the 'intimidation' and action towards the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) senior officers.

"I hope things like these (transfer of senior MACC officials) can be stopped immediately and the intimidation against MACC must stop. I can not accept attacks on institutions like the MACC.

"The transfer of these officers seems very strange and very disappointing as if it was a planned intimidation against MACC, which for me, weakens our institutions," he told reporters after officiating the Malaysian Youth Council Annual General Assembly on Friday.

He added that the action taken against the MACC earlier not only weakens the institution but also capable of undermining people's trust in the government.

He said that if such actions continue, people's trust towards the institutions and the government would be worse than what it is today.

"I understand that transferred officers' mistake could be just receiving visits from the Opposition. After that, they were transferred. For me it is very, very unfair.

"We have to safeguard the institution. Don't ruin the country's institution, just because we want to have a specific agenda. I am not willing to allow and tolerate such things to happen," said the UMNO Youth chief.

Recently, two MACC directors have been transferred to the Prime Minister's Department.

According to sources, special operations director, Datuk Bahri Mohamad Zin and strategic communications director, Datuk Rohaizad Yaakob were transferred with immediate effect, on Friday.
