It has been a non-stop debate among social media users since Lotus Five Star Cinemas (LFS Cinemas) displayed a notice barring unmarried couples from occupying the seats at its theatre in Seri Iskandar, Perak.

Netizens generally support the decision taken by the cinema operator to prohibit unwed Muslim couples from occupying the couple seats.

On Facebook, user Raja Nur Fatiha said, "We should support the prohibition because, as a Muslim nation, ethics and religion should be practiced as best as possible."

User Abdullah Al-Muttaqin said when an Islamic law is implemented, Muslims are compelled to follow.

Some also suggested ways to curb social problems among youths. User Francis Frans suggested to separate the men and women in the cinema while Xie's Idlan suggested to install night vision cameras to catch culprits doing shady stuff.

Of course, there were also those who objected to the matter.

Yesterday, Astro AWANI reported that LFS Cinemas in Seri Iskandar had displayed a notice at its premises barring unwed Muslim couples from utilising them.

The notice came on the heels of the Perak Tengah District Council's advice to curb immoral acts among youths.

The ruling took effect since the theatre began operating two years ago.

The theatre boasts 12 couple seats and seven theatre halls.
