The 40-year-old woman is being detained to assist investigation on the misappropriation of funds for Sabah's rural projects.

The engineer, aged 35, was arrested Sunday evening before he was brought to the Tawau Magistrate's Court Monday.

The suspects, aged between 29 and 59, were nabbed in the second phase of an operation after the first operation on Oct 4.

Under the suspension, both suspects are prohibited from entering the department's office or the premises of any other department in Sabah.

The 62-year-old suspect was the department's deputy director for almost 11 years before he retired last year.
