KUALA LUMPUR: Two Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers were arrested on suspicion of being involved in unlawful activities by the 'Nicky Gang'.

MACC Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Azam Baki, who confirmed the matter, said the two officers had been handed over to the police for investigation.

"I take the matter seriously and will not compromise. We will hand over (to the police) if there are more involved," he said in a statement today.

Last March, police crippled an organised criminal group known as 'Nicky Gang', following the arrest of 68 people and seizure of thousands of ringgit in cash and assets worth millions of ringgit in 70 raids conducted in Selangor and the Klang Valley.

The 'Nicky Gang' is believed to be involved in international organised crime, Macau Scam and money laundering.
