KUALA LUMPUR:Deputy President of Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah), Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub is of the view that the issue of legitimacy of a government is beginning to be a concern and important for the people.

Salahuddin opined that the people are now seeing whether a government at the Federal or State level has legitimacy or not.

Therefore, the Simpang Jeram State Assemblyman (ADUN) suggested that the Johor UMNO assemblymen submit a motion of confidence in the leadership of the Johor Menteri Besar.

“I feel it will be good if UMNO submits a motion of confidence in the leadership of the Johor Menteri Besar to prove whether the state government can really survive and have the dignity to continue to govern the state of Johor.

“This motion of confidence will be able to prove the legitimacy of the support of Bersatu still remains with the Johor Perikatan Nasional (PN) government.

"It is very likely that something important will happen tomorrow during the last day of winding-up session of the state budget which will probably heat up the political temperature of the PN government in Johor," he said in a statement on Saturday.

Earlier, former Menteri Besar of Johor, Datuk Osman Sapian hinted that the political crisis in Perak may also happen there.

The Kempas assemblyman said Bersatu Johor could possibly take revenge on Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Ir Hasni Mohammad who represents UMNO.
