The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today recorded a statement from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on SRC International and the RM2.6 billion fund.

The statement was recorded at a session that took two and a half hours and the prime minister gave good cooperation.

"The commission will inform of developments from time to time," the MACC said in a statement issued today.

On Nov 12, MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed said they had contacted the Prime Minister's Office on the matter and Najib agreed to have his statement recorded.

He had reportedly said that the MACC was waiting for a date to interview Najib on issues related to the investigation.

On the same day, Najib said he was ready to give a statement to the MACC since the case had led to many allegations and lies.

SRC International was a subsidiary of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) until it was placed under the Ministry of Finance in 2012.

Meanwhile, when contacted, a spokesman for the MACC said today's meeting with Najib was held in the Prime Minister's office from 10 am.
