The gap between concrete parapet pieces at MRT Kajang Line are designed as such, and therefore posed no danger to the public, Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) said.

MRT Corp, in a statement yesterday, was responding to what it said were incorrect comments circulated in social media, which claimed that a piece of the concrete parapet wall at the said location was "dangling" and "in danger of falling".

"The parapets have been placed in an angle to cater to the widened guideway near the station. MRT Corp assures everyone that there is no reason for concern as no risk of the parapet piece being dislodged.

"MRT Corp together with Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd, the operator of the MRT Kajang Line, has also conducted an inspection of the section of the elevated guideway and found the piece to be properly and securely fixed," it explained.

In addition, MRT said regular checks had also been conducted on all assets of the MRT Kajang Line to ensure everything was in good condition and did not pose any danger to the public.
