Weiners take all in Melbourne race

They may be famous for their clumsy long bodies and stumpy legs, but that didn't stop some 100 dachshunds from competing for title of speediest sausage dog at Melbourne's annual Dachshund Race on Saturday (September 24). The four-legged contestants sprinted down a 15 metre track to the delight of crowds of excited onlookers. The Hophaus Annual Dachshund Race, now in its second year, is part of the city's Oktoberfest celebrations. The event also awards dozens of prizes for best-dressed wiener dog.
