“We finally got approval to do our work from the Securities Commission,” proclaimed Wong Wai Ken, the Malaysia Country Manager of StashAway.

This single line of proclamation – while seemingly trivial – is actually a major feat of accomplishment.

To date, the Securities Commission (SC) has only approved a handful of investment houses in the country. The reason for this is due to the need to ensure that investor rights are protected.

In pursuit of investor protection, the SC employs an extremely high level of due diligence higher than most markets, according to industry watchers, is to ensure that investments are not just protected, but also makes sense for investors.

Because of our reliance on high-technology, investors can join us for as little as RM1,000 or into the millions of ringgit should they wish to

“We acknowledge the high standards the SC holds us accountable to. But it also provides us the inherent stamp of approval that what we do is worth it for our investors and our clients,” says Wong.

StashAway employs a proprietary investment strategy dubbed the ‘Economic Regime-Based Asset Allocation’, or ERAA.

“ERAA dynamically manages your risk while maximising your returns. We do this by using proprietary investment algorithms that measures economic activity to ensure our investors get the most out of their money,” he adds.

According to the company, ERAA monitors economic trends and valuations to make informed, intelligent management decisions on investment portfolios. But this is coupled with high level of user-friendly interface that makes investors comfortable with their investments with us.

“Because of our reliance on high-technology, investors can join us for as little as RM1,000 or into the millions of ringgit should they wish to."

“We want to ensure that we broaden the investment net as wide as possible to ensure that any investor, regardless of their size and strength, gets the most out of their cash,” he finishes.
