THE world mourns, after more than 120 people were killed in terrorist attacks throughout Paris late Friday evening.

It has been reported that at least 200 innocents lives are injured, 80 of them severely as gunmen and bombers attacked eateries, a concert hall and a stadium, that a shocked President Francois Hollande dubbed as an 'unprecedented terrorist attack'.

SATURDAY (November 14, 2015)

This is what we know so far:

7.40am: News agency the Associated Press reports of a shooting incident at a restaurant, leaving a few dead.

At the same time, an explosion took place outside the Stade de France national stadium when a match between France and Germany took place. Also in the stadium was French president François Hollande, who was immediately evacuated from the stadium.

On social media, the Twitter hashtag #porteouverte, which means "open door" in English, was being used to offer shelter as authorities urged people to evacuate the streets.


8.15am: The Guardian reports of a shooting at a bar and Bataclan theatre.

8.20am: Those in the hall were held as hostages.

8.45am: The match at Stade de France stadium had to be halted. But, players and 80,000 attendees were told not to leave the stadium.

9.10am: Local authorities issue an order requiring residents to stay indoors.

9.30am: US President Barack Obama condemns the attack.

9.35am: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Twitter and KEADILAN president and Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail on a Facebook post condemn the Paris attack.

9.40am: French President François Hollande declares a nationwide state of emergency.

10am: Reuters reports the death toll from the Paris attack at 100.

10.10am: The Guardian reports a few more explosions where heard in Bataclan theatre and about 60 people were still held as hostage in the hall.

10:35am: Facebook launches Paris Terror Attacks Safety Check, enabling users to check-in and at the same confirming their status, if they are free from any threats or otherwise.

10.45am: Police storm into the Bataclan theatre. Gunmen apparently burst into the crowd and started firing indiscriminately. At least two attackers were reported killed by security forces.

11am: The Guardian reports – citing eye witnesses account - hostages were starting to be released.

11.30am: Operation at Bataclan theatre ends with two militants dead.

12.10pm: Authorities confirm attacks at six sites: Bataclan theatre, Stade de France stadium, Rue De Charonne Japanese restaurant, Le Petit Cambodge Cambodian restaurant, Boulevard Voltaire, and Casa Nostra pizza restaurant.

2pm: Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz and a Malaysian tourism delegation who are in Paris to attend the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) meeting are safe, Bernama reported.

4pm: A survivor of the shooting at a Paris concert hall gives his account of what unfolded citing that the shooters looked 'no older than 25'.


7pm: Islamic State jihadists claimed a series of coordinated attacks by suicide bombers and gunmen in Paris.

Hollande called the coordinated assault as an "act of war".

8pm: Syrian President Bashar al-Assad condemned the attacks but said the West's "flawed" policies in Syria, especially that of France, was partly to blame.

9pm: A Syrian passport was found near the body of one of the assailants.

10.20pm: A French national is believed to be among four men who stormed Bataclan concert hall overnight, killing at least 82 people, according to police and a source close to the investigation.

11.36pm: Two Palestinian Islamist groups - Hamas and Islamic Jihad - condemned the Paris attacks, officials in both organisations said.

SUNDAY (November 15, 2015)

09.37am: French police seeks for two men registered as refugees with Greek authorities earlier this year in connection with the Paris attack, Greek police confirmed.

10.20am: Across the world people stood in solidarity of the victims of those involved in the Paris attack on Saturday.

11.51am: Hassan Nasrallah, chief of Lebanon's powerful Shiite Muslim movement Hezbollah, strongly condemned Saturday the Islamic State group's attacks in Paris.

12.28pm: The list of the number of foreigners identified as victims of the deadly terrorist attacks in Paris.

12.59: French police have identified three teams of gunmen wearing suicide vests who killed at least 129 people in Paris.

1.38pm: Police took into custody the father and brother of a French gunman linked to a string of deadly Paris attacks.

2.50pm: French police identified the first of seven gunmen who killed at least 129 people as 29-year-old Omar Ismail Mostefai from a severed finger found at Bataclan concert hall, scene of the worst of the bloodshed.
