The Foreign Ministry said today that no Malaysians were affected due to the latest bomb attack in southern Thailand, which occurred in front of the Chana railway station yesterday.

The ministry in a statement on Tuesday also condemned the bombing which claimed the lives of two people, while injuring 15 others.

"Malaysian Government offers its condolences and sympathy to the Government of Thailand and the families of those involved in the attack," said the statement.

The incident on Monday at 5.30pm saw a four-year-old boy and a policeman being killed on Monday, while eight others were wounded.

Songkhla 9th Division Police chief Major General Akkapop Prasitwattanachai said the wounded victims were two policemen, two young girls and four civilians.

The boy who perished in the attack was identified as Ahmad Yassin Madsan, who was also related to the wounded girls.
