US Space Agency, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is once again keeping many on the edge of their seats as they gear up for another announcement.

NASA planetary scientist Dr Alan Stern said NASA was set to reveal an ‘amazing’ discovery on Thursday while delivering a talk at University of Alberta in Canada according to The Independent.

However, details of the announcement remains unknown at this stage.

Stern who is also the principal investigator on NASA’s New Horizons Pluto missionsaid, "NASA won't let me tell you what we're going to tell you on Thursday. It's amazing."

Last week NASA turned heads when NASA's planetary science director Dr Jim Green announced that liquid water was found on the surface of Mars.

The agency also disclosed latest images of planet Pluto shedding the light on the landscape of mountains, craters and gorges of the dwarf planet.

Thursday’s announcement is expected to be about the planet Pluto as it holds many questions about its wide array of mountainous dune fields, multicoloured surfaces and other features that science has yet to provide answers for.
