The condition of former Singapore Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew who was admitted on Feb 5 for severe pneumonia at Singapore General Hospital has improved slightly, the Prime Minister's Office said Saturday.

It said in a statement that Lee, 91, remains sedated and on mechanical ventilation in the intensive care unit.
He is continuing with his antibiotics, it added.

Lee was Singapore's first prime minister who helmed the government from 1959 to 1990 and is regarded as one of the longest serving prime ministers in the world.
