The Indonesian government has rejected the return or repatriation of the country's nationals nabbed in Syria who were involved in activities of the Daish terrorist group, China's Xinhua news agency reported.

Indonesian Defence Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu made the statement on Monday following the arrests of Indonesian citizens in Syria for their participation in the Daish group.

He stressed that the captured citizens had to keep staying in Syria.

"Do not return home, keep staying there. Fight there until dead," he said at the State Palace.

Indonesia has witnessed a spate of suicide bombings linked with the Daish group in recent months that killed dozens of people.

The security authorities in Indonesia have stepped up their alertness against militants as the country has been included in the Daish global target.
