Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak tonight boldly declared he will never retreat and was adamant that his Barisan Nasional-led administration was transparent.

In his speech during the launch of the Performance and Delivery Unit (Pemandu) Annual Report at Angkasapuri here Tuesday, Najib said that he was conscious of the constant attacks against him in recent times.

The leader asserted that he would "not be alone and would create a million fresh pathways for the sake of the rakyat and the country."

“Even though we are pressured and criticised, as a transparent government, I, as the Prime Minister, with deputy prime minister and the ministers as well as my colleagues in the administration, won’t budge or surrender, but will instead remain steadfast and continue to fight, and carve a million new pathways for the sake of the rakyat and the country," he said.

Najib cited renowned philosopher Hamka's wisdom, that despite all odds it has become the teachings and practices (sunnah) for one to continue fighting.

"Believe me, when the truth shines out and reveals itself, all insults and imputation will disappear."

Earlier this month, Najib had reportedly said he is open to any criticism from any quarters on his leadership and that as Prime Minister and Umno president, he placed the interest of the people and party (uppermost) when making any decision.
