Hazy conditions still persist in Singapore Wednesday despite some improvements following a downpour earlier this morning.

As of 9am, the pollutant standard index (PSI) read was 116 to 141, in the unhealthy range and the three-hour PSI was 83, according to the National Environment Agency (NEA).

NEA forcast prevailing winds to be weak, blowing from the east or southeast, with hazy conditions to be expected.

Thundery showers are forecast in the afternoon.

The agency said visibility is expected to remain poor, particularly in the morning, and improve gradually through the day if the haze situation eases.
