Families of the two individuals killed in the anti-government protest on the Phan Fah bridge, has filed a murder charge against the Prime Minister of Thailand, Yingluck Sinawatra and also against five senior government officials including the Director of Sustainable Peace and Order, CMPO, Chalerm Yubamrung.

The other four include the Chief of Police, Adul Saeng-Sing-Kaew, Head of the Department of Special Investigation, Tarit Pengdith, Police Commander, General Kawee Supanant, and Chonburi police Chief, Major General Khatcha Thatsat.

Two police officers and four members of the public died in the February 18 incident.

Lieutenant General Kawee Supanant was the commander in charge of quelling the protest that day, while Major General Khatcha Thatsat was the Deputy Commander in charge of the operation.

The charges were filed with the Criminal Court by People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) lawyer Chaiway Sitthisooksakul, who acting for Jongjit Saeda, the wife of Sattha Saedan, and Umaporn Angthong, the mother of Jeerapong Chuichai.

Sattha and Jeerapong died when they were shot by an armed man during the protest.

The court will set the date of the hearing soon to to determine the validity of the case as it was not filed a police investigator.

Chaiway, PDRC, is currently collecting evidence from 60 protestor’s families who were injured or killed in the series of violence.
