Seven foreigners housed at alternative state quarantine hotels made up the new COVID-19 cases in Thailand over the last 24 hours.

To date, Thailand has recorded a total of 3,438 COVID-19 cases with 58 deaths.

The Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said the new cases were aged between 14 and 43-years-old.

They include three foreign students - a 16-year-old American girl, an 18-year-old Russian man and a 14-year-old Indian girl.

"A 24-year-old Bangladeshi man also tested positive for COVID-19," it said in a statement.

CCSA said the other new cases include a 40-year-old Brazilian who travelled from Indonesia, a 45-year old Russian woman and a 43-year-old Indian man.

"To date, 500 COVID-19 cases have been detected from those housed at alternative state quarantine hotels since April 3," it said.
