THE number of deaths due to COVID-19 infection continues to rise following the increase in death toll outside China.

At present, the number of deaths due to coronavirus worldwide is 95,115 .

Of that, 3,251 deaths were reported worldwide with China recording the highest number with 2,984 as of Thursday morning.

Italy had the highest death toll outside of China with 107 cases, followed by Iran (92) and South Korea (35), while China recorded 80,270 cases.

The number of cases of infections outside China continue to show an increasing trend.

South Korea had the highest positive cases with 5,621, followed by Italy (3,089) and Iran (2,922).

Meanwhile, in Putrajaya, The Malaysian Ministry of Health (MOH) had yesterday confirmed 14 more new cases and all of them were close contacts of case 26.

Its director-general, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, said it had brought the number of COVID-19 positive cases in the country to 50.
