The third meeting of the Technical Advisory Committee of the Council of Arab Ministers of Health kicked off Wednesday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

Director of the Department of International Health Relations at the Ministry of Health, Abdullatif Ali Al-Abdullah, who heads the Qatar delegation told QNA on the sidelines of the meeting that the committee will discuss a number of items.

The most important of which are the health conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem and the occupied Syrian Golan along with the unified speech of the Council of Arab Ministers of Health before the 70th session of the General Assembly of the World Health Organisation (WHO) due to be hold in Geneva this month, he said.

Discussion will also be held on means to support Somalia, the Arab strategy to combat AIDS, the Arab Fund for Health Development, along with the formation of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Health, he said.

He said that the meeting would submit its recommendations to the meeting of Arab Health Ministers during their meeting due in Geneva on May 22, on the sidelines of the World Health Organisation meeting. -- Bernama
