Samsung Electronics Co Ltd has won over 120 awards at the Consumer Electronics Show 2017 (CES 2017).

In a statement today, the South Korean multinational conglomerate said it has also received recognition in other categories spanning the home entertainment, home appliance and mobile categories at the event.

"Among the notable wins are 34 Innovation Awards, including the Best of Innovation Award in the video display category," it said.

Samsung said among their award-winning products were the new QLED television (TV) line-up, which has received more than 20 notable awards, Lifestyle TV and FlexWash+FlexDry laundry system," it said.

The company said it was also recognised with a number of media and industry awards, selected by organisations in attendance at the event.

Samsung Electronics North America President/Chief Executive Officer, Gregory Lee, said the company was honoured to be recognised by event organiser, Consumer Technology Association, and the industry for its innovative products and developments.

"This past year was marked with an array of unique developments in product design and engineering.

"We will remain committed to delivering products that are thoughtfully designed to work the way we live," he said.

CES is a global consumer electronics and consumer technology tradeshow that takes place every January in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The four-day event, which commenced on Jan 5, showcases over 3,800 exhibiting companies, including manufacturers, developers and suppliers of consumer technology hardware, content and technology delivery systems. -- Bernama
