Sabah Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan believes the Football Association Malaysia's (FAM) newly appointed president, Tengku Mahkota of Johor (TMJ), Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim can bring about changes and help build a strong national team.

TMJ as the newly elected president must be given the support, space and time to transform the landscape of Malaysian football.

"I am confident TMJ will use the same expertise that saw him transform Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) into a great outfit and we in Sabah are ready to offer our full support, including for a Sabahan who was elected as one of the four vice presidents, namely Mohd Joehari Ayob," he told reporters after closing the Gerak IKD SDC 2017 Tawau-Meneroka Potensi Keusahawanan Desa programme in Dewan here, Sunday.

Tawfiq who is also the Sabah Football Association (SAFA) deputy president 1 was commenting on the appointment of TMJ as the FAM president during the 53rd FAM Congress on Saturday.
