Former Perak Super League chief coach Syamsul Mohd Saad has replaced Razip Ismail as Perlis head coach.

Perlis Football Association (PFA) president Datuk Rozabil Abdul Rahman in a media statement Wednesday said Syamsul would also be heading the PFA coaching programme.

Razip resigned immediately after Perlis suffered a humiliating 0-5 loss to Kuantan FA recently.

Syamsul, a former Perak player, was a member of the national team which played in the 2006 World Cup qualifying round.

"It is hoped Syamsul will bring about changes and revive Perlis which had played seven matches without a win and is currently at the bottom of the Premier League table.

"PFA views the performance of Perlis seriously and may recruit new players to strengthen the team when the player transfer window is opened in May," said Rozabil.

He also urged the fans and supporters to give their undivided support to Syamsul.

"On behalf of PFA, I want to thank Razip for his contributions and efforts in guiding Perlis since his appointment as chief coach at the start the 2017 league season," he added. - Bernama
