Pahang succeeded in making up for their disappointment last year by beating Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) with a 2-1 aggregate at the end of the second semi-final match at Darul Makmur Stadium here, on Friday night, sending them into the FA Cup final.

At the FA Cup semi-final last season, Pahang which also faced the same team were prevented from going to the final based on the away goal rule although the outcome ended in a 2-2 aggregate.

In the second leg last night, both teams traded attacks but attempts after attempts failed until the end of the second-half.

A freekick taken by Mohd Hafiz Kamal in the 40th minute also did not bear fruit after the ball went out.

Pahang import Zeshan Rehman succeeded in sending the ball into the net for goal from a Mohd Faizol Hussain pass four minutes later but was ruled off-side.

In the second half, it was the turn of JDT to score a goal in the 67th minute to break the deadlock but the goal was nullified by referee Samsudin Ibrahim due to an offside.

The stadium erupted into a roar by 32,000 fans after Pahang midfielder Mohd Faizol Hussain's successful attempt in the 81st minute from outside the penalty box.

The morale of the Tok Gajah squad rose and they controlled the match to unleash several dangerous attacks but were thwarted.

The result remained 1-0 in favour of Pahang at the final whistle.

Pahang will wait for the winners of another semi-final match between Felda United and Kelantan at Shah Alam Stadium tonight.
