Malaysian squash queen and world number one Datuk Nicol Ann David claimed her second 2013 season win after regaining her Carol Weymuller Open title on Sunday.

In the finals held at the Heights Casino in Brooklyn, New York, the 30-year-old Penangite easily dispatched France's Camille Serme 12-10, 11-2 and 11-5.

It was Nicol's second win in the competition after she last won it in 2005.

Nicol crashed out of the Carol Weymuller Open in 2012 after losing to England's Alison Waters in the quarter-finals.

"I'm just so happy to win this tournament after so long. It has been such a great atmosphere that it just drives me forward to play better squash each day.

"Camille played really well in the first game and it was neck and neck all the way. In the second and third I mixed it up a bit more because she gets into a great rhythm and it could be dangerous," Nicol was quoted as saying in a squash website, www.squashsite.co.uk.
