A new line-up of the Malaysian Hockey Confederation’s (MHC) coaching committee will be announced within two weeks time, says its president Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal.

Subahan, who will oversee the coaching committee before a further decision is made, said this was following the resignation of the committee's chairman Datuk Ow Soon Kooi due to health reasons.

"The coaching committee chairman gave a letter to me officiially saying he is resigning due to health reasons.

"The committee comprises most of my coaches and most of them are still there. So, there is no issue of disbanding them... we just have to make a bit of adjustment (on the committee line-up) now that the chairman has left," he told reporters after checking on preparations of Malaysia's national indoor hockey team for the upcoming SEA Games at Real Sports Arena here Monday.

Subahan said he will also look into restructuring certain committees within MHC which are dormant.

On the preparation of the Malaysian hockey squad for in the SEA Games next month, Subahan said he was satisfied with their performance and set a target to win four gold medals (two gold each in the men’s and women’s indoor and field events).

On another note, Subahan, who is president of the Football Association of Selangor (FAS), said he has once again applied to the Selangor government to allocate a sum of RM5 million to the association for the development of football in the state.

He said this was necessary to complement the budget of RM15 million which has to be invested for the football team for this season.
