Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin wants National Stadium Bukit Jalil to become a people's stadium after the 29th SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games (KL2017).

It was aimed at providing opportunities to community teams and amateur players to experience the aura of playing in a stadium that is the home of the national football team, besides having it belong to all the people.

"National Stadium Bukit Jalil belongs to the people. We aim to open the stadium to community teams and amateur players today, because we want to make it the people's stadium.

"After this, the best way to do this by opening up the stadium from time to time to allow amateur players who do not represent any professional club to feel the aura of the stadium," he told reporters before the kickoff between the teams Pemanis FC and Shah Alam Antlers, here, Friday.

Khairy said organising the Community Football Day programme here today was also a good way to test-drive the stadium for KL2017.
