EDUARD “Landslide” Folayang is certain he will return to winning ways when he takes on Mongolia’s Amarsanaa “Spear” Tsogookhuu at ONE: MASTERS OF FATE.

The Filipino martial arts icon has endured a tough run in recent times, but on Friday, 8 November he will bank on his experience to leave the Mall Of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines with his 22nd career win.

“It’s still the same focused mindset that I had during my winning run last year,” Folayang said.

“We’re coming off back-to-back losses, so it’s important for me to get a win back in order to finish the year strong. I want to give the fans a terrific performance for my last bout of the year.”

Though 2019 has not been what the Baguio City native planned – losing to Eddie “The Underground King” Alvarez and Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki – his World Championship mentality remains intact.

“I think one of the lessons I learned from those experiences is that at this level, there is very little margin for error,” he said.

“This sport can be very unforgiving on small mistakes. I think that a fresh mindset is important when preparing for the next challenge, and that’s what I carry with me now.”

“Landslide” is adamant that he should leave the past where it belongs, and his attention is solely on his next opponent, Tsogookhuu.

“I can see that his game is more focused on the striking aspect, and he uses his takedowns to gain points,” Folayang said.

“I think he’s a smart fighter who uses his skills well and with purpose when he competes.”
