Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) are in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup quarter-finals after defeating Myanmar club,Ayeyawady United 5-0 in the second knockout round at the Tan Sri Hassan Yunos Stadium here, Wednesday.

In action before 16,850 supporters, JDT fielded two import players, Jorge Rolando Pereyra Diaz and Luciano Gabriel Figueroa to boost the frontline with other players.

The move paid off as in the second minute of the first half, the Southern Tigers captain Safiq Rahim blasted in the first goal after receiving a pass from Figueroa.

Ayeyawady looked on course for an equaliser in the 14th minute by winger Sim Woon Sub but his attempt hit the goalpost.

In the 20th minute, JDT midfielder Mohd Nazrin Mohd Nawi also had a near miss at goal when the ball hit the woodwork.

In the second half, JDT's Figueroa was on target in the 42nd minute when he slammed the ball past Ayeyawady goalkeeper, Vanlai Hruai.

Things got worse for the Myanmar club when JDT came back to score in the 60th and 73rd minutes.

In the dying minutes of the game, Figueroa slotted in JDT's fifth goal for an emphatic 5-0 victory for the Johor team.
