It was goal galore for Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) after they beat Terengganu 5-0 to lead Group D of the Malaysia Cup at the Tan Sri Dato' Hassan Yunus Stadium in Larkin, Johor last night.

Playing on homeground, the Southern Tigers scored the first goal in the 18th minute through Muhd Safawi Rasid, followed by Mohd Fadhli Mohd Shas and S.Kunalan in the 38th and 45th minutes, respectively.

The subsequent goals came from Ahmad Hazwan Bakri and Darren Yee Deng Lok in the 49th and 79th minutes.

As such, JDT earned its spot in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, Perak and Felda United FC also made it to the quarter-finals after emerging as the two best performing teams in Group B, although there is still another match left.

At Perak Stadium in Ipoh, the home team defeated Kuala Lumpur 2-0 to lead Group B with 13 points via Gilmar Jose Da Silva Filho and Kenny Pallaraj Davargi in the 22nd and 37th minutes.

Meanwhile, at the Tun Abdul Razak Satdium in Jengka, Pahang, Felda United FC scored three points despite a narrow 3-2 win against PKNS FC.

In Group A, T-Team surprised Negeri Sembilan with 4-1 win at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium, Kuala Terengganu via goals from Mohd Asrol Ibrahim @ Abdullah and Wan Mohd Amirzafran Wan Nadris in the 24th and 39th minutes.

The team continued to disappoint Negeri Sembilan with another two goals from Dilshod Sharofetdinov and Muhammad Fakhrurazi Musa in the 49th and 80th minutes. However, Negeri Sembilan scored a goal through Muhammad Nizam Mohd Ruslan in the 78th minute.

In the same group, Pahang went on a goal-scoring spree, scoring 6-0 against PKNP FC at the Darul Makmur Stadium, Kuantan.

The goals were provided by Wan Zaharulnizam Wan Zakaria (27th and 52nd minutes), Joseph Kalang Tie (32nd and 41st), Mohd Afif Amiruddin (83rd) and Matheus Alves (86th).

Two matches will be played tomorrow between Kelantan and Melaka in Group C, as well as Selangor and Sarawak in Group D.
