Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One (F1) Team set the fastest time in the second practice session of the 2015 Petronas Malaysian F1 Grand Prix (GP) at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) here, Friday.

Hamilton, who had achieved the season's opening victory in Melbourne at the Australian Grand Prix two weeks ago, clocked the fastest time of one minute 39.790 seconds in Lap 16 during the 90-minute practice session this afternoon.

A mere 0.373 seconds behind him was Finland's Kimi Raikkonen of Scuderia Ferrari.

Hamilton's team mate, Nico Rosberg, who set the fastest time in the first practice session, now has the third fastest time of 1:40.218s.
