Four former T-Team players pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here today to giving false testimony during a match-fixing trial involving the team two years ago.

The four men, Mohd Hafiz Mohd Noor, 26, Muhammad Shafiquddin Ibrahim, 25, Mohd Nazmeer Hisham Mohammad, 25, and Mohd Hanifzam Muda, 26, were alleged to have given the false testimony during the trial between 10am and 1pm on May 6, 2014.

The testimony was related to T-Team matches with Pahang, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.

They were charged under Section 27 (2) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 which carries a fine of up to RM100,000 or imprisonment up to 10 years, or both.

Judge Mohd Azhar Othman set bail at RM3,000 with one surety for each of them and set May 17 for mention and appointment of counsel.

The prosecution was conducted by MACC Deputy Public Prosecutor Amer Abu Bakar Abdullah.
