Terengganu came from behind to hold high flying Perak to a 1-1 draw in a FA Cup quarterfinal match at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium in Kuala Terengganu, Tuesday night.

Brazilian Paulo Rangel was the toast of Terengganu with a last minute strike that cancelled out Perak's one goal advantage and saved the blushes for the home team.

Perak who lead the Super League standings had taken the lead in the 45th minute through their South Korean import Woong Namkung after a blunder by goalkeeper Zubir Azmi.

At the Selayang Stadium, Kelantan escaped with a 1-1 draw against club side Sime Darby FC in what was regarded a repeat of the 2012 FA Cup final.

Kelantan under new coach Azraai Khor Abdullah took the lead in the 45th minute after a mistimed header by Halim Zainal saw Kelantan import Erwin Carillo from Colombia race through the fire home from close range.

Stung by the goal, Sime Darby under the tutelage of coach Ismail Zakaria piled on the pressure and deservedly found the equaliser in the final minute through Serbian Nemanja Vidakovic who was a thorn in the Kelantan defence.

In Kuantan, defending champion Pahang took a giant stride towards retaining the title after beating Penang 2-0 at the Darul Makmur Stadium with goals from Mohd Hafiz Kamal in the 9th minute and Dickson Nwakaeme in the 14th minute.

The return leg will be played on April 21 and 22.

On April 21, Kelantan face Sime Darby FC at the Sultan Mohd IV Stadium in Kota Baharu and Perak host Terengganu at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh while on April 22, Penang will welcome Pahang at the City Stadium and Johor Darul Takzim II await Lions XII from Singapore.
