Criticism after criticism received by the Tunku Mahkota of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, following the defeat suffered by the national football team during the 2019 Asian Cup Qualifiers, clearly made his sister uncomfortable.

Tunku Tun Aminah Sultan Ibrahim, the Johor Darul Ta'zim FC (JDT) president, apparently could not hide her disappointment when Tunku Ismail was criticised and blamed for the defeat.

She said, if this was how the people treat her elder brother in response to his sincerity in shouldering the responsibility as the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) President, then it is not worth it.

"I hope HRH Crown Prince of Johor does not stay too long being the President of FAM.

"It's better to serve and contribute where you are appreciated and loved," she said in a Facebook posting this morning.

She added that although JDT is already at the top now, Tunku Ismail should continue to guide it to a higher level and focus which appreciates and loves him more.

Tunku Ismail, or TMJ, previously has succeeded in transforming his club, JDT, into a household name in Asia.

On Tuesday night, Harimau Malaya were defeated 1-2 by Lebanon in their 2019 Asian Cup Group B qualifying campaign at the Larkin Stadium in Johor Baru.

TMJ was appointed FAM President in March.
