Hans-Kristian Vittinghus became the hero for Denmark after delivering the winning point for his team to claim the prestigious 2016 Thomas Cup in Kunshan, China on Sunday.

Vittinghus defeated his opponent Ehsan Maulana Mustoffa in straight sets 21-15, 21-7.

Earlier, Viktor Axelsen gained the first point for the Denmark after beating Tommy Sugiarto 21-17, 21-18 in 54 minutes.

Indonesia then equalized the points with their first doubles, Mohd Ahsan-Hendra Setiawan who beat Danish pair Mads Pieler Kolding-Mads Conrad Petersen, 18-21, 13-21.

In the second singles match, Jan O Jorgensen defeated Anthony Ginting 21-17, 21-12.

Not giving up, Indonesia's Angga Pratama-Ricky Karanda Suwardi then beat Denmark's second doubles Kim Astrup-Anders Skaarup Rasmussen in straight sets 21-16, 21-14 in 42 minutes to again equalize the score.

This is the first ever Thomas Cup final victory for Denmark.
