The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) expect the Badminton World Federation (BWF) to give the date for Datuk Lee Chong Wei's dope case by end of the week said BAM Honorary secretary Ng Chin Cai.

Chin Cai said BAM were still waiting for feedback from the BWF.

"Lawyer Mike Morgan from the United Kingdom has finalised preparation for the case and he is expected to contact the BWF to check on the date. We may hear an announcement of the date by this week.

"However, we do not know where the panel will hold the meeting," he told reporters when met at the Juara Stadium in Bukit Kiara, here today.

Malaysia’s badminton icon and world number one Lee Chong Wei was reported to have failed a random dope test during the World Badminton Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark in August.

Chong Wei was implicated in a doping scandal after traces of dexamethasone were reportedly found in his urine sample during the random test conducted at the World Championships.

He has since been suspended by the BWF.
