Christian Lee captured the ONE Lightweight World Championship title with a technical knockout (TKO) win over Japanese Shinya Aoki at ONE: Enter The Dragon, Friday night.

The Singaporean star rattled the home crowd inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium after emerging as the youngest male mixed martial arts (MMA) world champion at only 20 years old.

In the first round, Aoki imposed his will by taking Lee down and locking him with armbar, but the hometown hero managed to escape the grip.

In the second round, Lee took charge as he unloaded a barrage of punches to put Aoki down and out to seize the prestigious ONE Championship world title.

This was Lee's second attempt at a world title. His first title shot was a featherweight bout against Martin Nguyen in 2018, where he lost via split decision.

In 2016, his sister, Angela Lee became the youngest ever MMA world champion at 19 after defeating veteran Japanese fighter Mei Yamaguchi.

Meanwhile, in the co-main event, Regian Eersel of The Netherlands edged out fellow Dutchman Nieky Holzken to win by unanimous decision, capturing the inaugural ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Championship.

Both fighters put on an impressive display of world-class striking throughout the entire five-round bout.

Eersel’s jabs and knees in the latter part of the bout, was enough to earn the nod on all three of the judges’ scorecards.
