The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) is keeping mum on the possible reshuffle of the national coaching staff.

BAM technical director Morten Frost Hansen said he could not reveal the changes of coaching staff as the matter would only be announced during the BAM incentives ceremony for Rio Olympics Games medalists on Saturday.

"I just returned from holiday and will hand over the post-mortem review of Rio Olympics at the next meeting. Many issues were brought up in the Coaching and Training (C&T) meeting today and the results will only be revealed on Saturday," he told reporters, here Thursday.

Earlier, Frost attended a meeting chaired by BAM deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Norza Zakaria at BAM headquarters.

Mohamad Norza had said the fate of the coaching staff including Hendrawan who guided Datuk Lee Chong Wei to a third successive silver medal at the Olympics, would be discussed during the C&T meeting.

Frost said he was looking to form a balanced team which has a good chance of winning medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games rather than creating a new team.

"I used to say that don't change a winning team. I feel that we need to adjust the group and type of training and etc. Since I took over this job for the past 18 months, things look good."

He said the BAM would send the best line-up for the Japan Open Super Series tournament from Sept 20-25 and confident they would put a splendid performances. -- Bernama
