Astro will be providing Malaysians with a comprehensive coverage of the 29th SEA Games Kuala Lumpur 2017 (KL2017) on all screens, including Astro Digital platform, starting August 14.

As an official broadcaster of the SEA Games, Astro provides four high definition (HD) channels (802, 803, 804, 805), and four additional exclusive channels through Astro GO and NJOI Now online app.

Astro vice president of sports business Lee Chong Kay said emphasizing on digital platform broadcast allows anyone, including Astro customers, to enjoy coverage via their devices.

"If you're on television, you need a set of decoders to allow you watch the match.

“What we do is that even if you have no decoder, you can download the app and enjoy all the coverage we broadcast,” said Chong Kay during a press conference at the launch of the SEA Games coverage at Bukit Jalil National Stadium, here, today.

The ceremony was officiated by Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar.

In his speech, Khairy Jamaluddin described the broadcast as the largest in the history of SEA Games.
