ONE: DAWN OF HEROES has all the perfect components to be the Philippines’ greatest ever martial arts event.

The spectacle taking place on Friday, 2 August inside the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila is stacked with 15 world-class battles from start to finish.

World Titles will be on the line while the semi-final bouts of the Flyweight and Lightweight World Grand Prix get underway too.

Every one of the 30 martial artists competing has the potential to produce some of the most tantalizing matchups, but here are four battles which should stand out among the rest.

#1 Martin Nguyen vs Koyomi Matsushima

ONE Featherweight World Champion Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen will put his gold on the line when he takes on Japanese challenger Koyomi “Moushigo” Matsushima in the evening’s main event.

The Vietnamese Australian is coming off a spectacular flying knee knockout and will be in search of another highlight reel finish this Friday.

However, he must be wary of Matsushima’s supreme knockout power, which stung Marat Gafurov in September 2018.

These featherweights could provide the millions watching worldwide with an epic battle.

#2 Demetrious Johnson vs Tatsumitsu Wada

The greatest pound-for-pound mixed martial artist Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson locks horns with DEEP Flyweight Champion Tatsumitsu “The Sweeper” Wada in a ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix semi-final bout.

Tatsumitsu is set to make his fifth appearance at The Home of Martial Arts and hopes to outdo his last decision victory over Cuban Gustavo Balart.

It will be a tough task to execute as “Mighty Mouse” can surprise Wada in a variety of ways.

Can Johnson work his magic yet again, or will “The Sweeper” unleash a career-defining moment?

#3 Eduard Folayang vs Eddie Alvarez

If there is one match that could set the tempo of the night, it is the clash between former ONE Lightweight World Eduard “Landslide” Folayang and America’s Eddie “The Underground King” Alvarez.

The two will go head-to-head in the semi-finals of the ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix.

Folayang, the hometown favorite, intends to reclaim his lost throne, while Alvarez is eager to cement his legacy as one of the greatest mixed martial artists in the history of the sport.

Both athletes are known for their high-level striking, but only one will march toward the World Grand Prix final. Who will it be?

#4 Sunoto vs Muhammad Aiman

Malaysia’s top bantamweight “Jungle Cat” Muhammad Aiman resumes his hunt toward the ONE Bantamweight World Title against Indonesia’s “The Terminator” Sunoto in the first clash of the night.

Aiman has vowed to finish “The Terminator,” while the latter believes he could slowly frustrate the Negeri Sembilan native to a decision win.
