UMNO leaders must show unity in their cause, in setting an example to the youth, saidUMNO vice president, Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Hussein.

Hishamuddin, who is alsoDefenceMinister, said through unity the people would continue to hold their hope and faith in Barisan Nasional (BN), enabling BN to spearhead the country's leadership.

"Thiscause(UMNO) is to ensure that our future generation will continue to be protected in this increasingly challenging world. Thus, to have a consistent cause is to have an invaluable cause," he said when speaking at theMarangUMNO division delegate's meeting here Friday.

He said that the unity between the people and its leaders would become a fortress to defend them against all obstacles.

He also reminded the delegates to prepare for the coming elections and to plan strategies in ensuring all of their candidates win.

"I am confident that the people trust UMNO's capacity as a party that can provide for their future generation and currently, we have no other alternative. We are surrounded by threats from within and outside," he said.

He reminded the delegates to stop bickering as the public would not support a party that was not united and urged them give their strong support to UMNO President, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, and the state's Menteri Besar, Ahmad RazifAbdRahman.

Also present wereMarangUMNO division chief A. Latif Awang and Ahmad Razif, who is also state UMNO Liaison Committee chairman.
