KUALA LUMPUR:The UMNO Supreme Council today has unanimously agreed to sack Gopeng UMNO Wanita chief, Datuk Hamidah Osman and revoke her membership for violating party disciplinary matters.

UMNO President, Datuk Seri Najib Razak told reporters that at the moment, only Hamidah has been given such action although other related matters were also raised at the meeting. The meeting was held at UMNO headquarters at the Putra World Trade Centre at 6pm.

“The Supreme Council has also decided that the respective UMNO division wings' launch ceremonies at the upcoming UMNO General Assembly will not be held simultaneously but to be officiated by the wing leaders.

“This request was placed by the respective wing leaders and the Supreme Council respect their decision to do so,” Najib told reporters, here today.

Najib also explained that the meeting was held at the Parliament foyer to ensure attendance by the council members.

“We were afraid that a voting would take place at the parliament,” said Najib.
