UMNO believes that going down to the ground and using the conventional media and the new media are effective in addressing people issues.

Its information chief, Tan Sri Annuar Musa said the party received a lot of information from the people through face-to-face communication.

"Feedback is important for the government to address the people's problems. We do not want to be over confident. Better to be corrected than abandoned.

"The walkabout in Perlis is not in vain. I got a lot of feedback from the people," he told reporters after a dialogue with taxi drivers here, Sunday.

Annuar said UMNO needs the conventional media as it is more credible and relevant in delivering information to the people.

He added the use of the new media such as Facebook should be increased although research shows that UMNO is more advanced than opposition parties. --Bernama
